“You don’t take a photograph. You make it.” — Ansel Adams

I’m not going to lie: I’m not one of those super-humans who are full of inspirational quotes and able to recite them verbatim on the spot. The one you saw above was my five-minute effort of googling, trying to appear more intelligent than I really am. But there you have it – a simple yet accurate statement of the work I’m doing: creating.

I do wholeheartedly believe that there is a creator in us all, in one form or another. Some of us interact with this creative person in our spare time. Some of us, like me, have chosen to invite them into our work, if we have any work at all: “starving artist” is a very real and unfortunate phenomenon. That said, I’m not one to complain about the job as I have never been more fulfilled in life.

I’m certainly aware that my body of work is young and still under development, but that means that you, a viewer, a reader, a museum goer, an art collector, or simply a person who appreciates art, will have the opportunity to see it grow and blossom.

The question is: Would you?
